#25 | Bulgaria - Turkey

I woke up in Kazanlak and realized that the tablet I was using to follow the route was not working. With the help of a person from Bulgaria we restored it and suddenly it worked again. After this small incident, I took the route to Turkey.

On the way I passed several monuments and very old tombs, until I arrived next to a water reservoir where I found St. Yoan Rilski Church. A church without a roof and full of offerings and birds’ nests.

Following the marked route, I crossed several esplanades with some mountain roads. In the villages of Monina and Kirovo I found a kind of natural park where in the middle of the road there were different kinds of fauna: cows, butterflies, hedgehogs, turtles… and surely many more.

At the end of the 200 kilometers that I had left to get to Turkey, I crossed the border of Malko Tarnovo, where it was the first border that made me open my luggage and stay longer than usual. It should also be said that it is the first border I have crossed outside of Europe on this trip.

Finally I arrived in a village, Demirköy, where I stayed at the first hotel I found and at the time of going to dinner I stopped at a Turkish fast food: Komagene, where I tried the çiğköfte, a kind of burrito with traditional food from there.
