First full day in Turkey. Today’s goal is to see the Black Sea for the first time.

I woke up in Demirköy, a small village near the Bulgarian border, and couldn’t find a place to have breakfast, so I went to the supermarket to get some supplies. I quickly took the route that runs along the eastern part of Turkey towards the Black Sea.

The route was a mountain road combined with tracks that led to different points where I could see the Black Sea. The route took me to a small village called Avcilar, towards Igneada, where I could see my destination for the first time. From there I continued south, following the road that bordered the sea. One of these roads led me to some spectacular cliffs.

Just following the route by mountain road, I came across Ayanikola Manastiri (Monastery of St. Nicolau), a monastery of the sixth century that was not built itself, but the mountain was pierced to create the infrastructure. Just chess kilometers from the monastery, I stopped in Kiyiköy, a tourist place where there are gastronomic places to stop for lunch.

Finally, from there I have continued south to make as many kilometers as possible and I have reached the city of Yaliköy. I could tell that it was the low season for tourism because I was the only person in the hotel and they did not provide me with dinner. Nevertheless, a restaurant in the area was recommended to me: Fafatara Restaurant. Spectacular and highly recommended.
