Today was a scary day. I rode through the mountains of Turkey and the weather was not good. It was foggy and it rained a little bit. Still, I was able to ride many kilometers until I reached Lake Abant.

I wake up in Geyve, a small town of about 50,000 people. There I go to the cafeteria Osman Usta and they give me for breakfast something like pies in many flavors. I take some for the road. When I have enough energy to continue, I get ready to start the route. The road took me through the mountains, where the fog and I became friends.

I stopped at different places to contemplate the magical landscapes of this country. Among them are different lakes and reservoirs which are protected as in Kiliçkaya Yangin Gözetleme Kulesi and Çubuk Gölü Tabiat Parki. In these lakes I could also enjoy the wonderful fauna, with lots of insects of all kinds and some shepherds with their sheep and goats and their dogs controlling the situation.

After the whole morning I was facing the most difficult road of the day: to overcome the slides of Kardüz Yaylasi, where the quad could barely pass in some places, and to avoid having to turn around, I got off to model the road and separate the stones in the middle of the road. I was there for an hour, but in the end I didn’t have to turn around.

Finally, when it was getting dark, I passed Purenli Yaylasi, Koca Yayla and arrived at my destination: Abant Lake. It has become a tourist place that is overcrowded and the revaluation of the place is high. I stayed at a campsite to sleep.
